While maintaining a presence in the community through volunteering, I successfully ran a household. I was responsible for purchasing and budgeting, appointment setting and transportation. Additionally, I provided housekeeping and food services as well as counseling and education.
 
Prior to parenthood, I worked in corporate offices, banking, customer service and sales positions, as well as the casino and entertainment industries. I have maintained and expanded upon my skills in the years since. In addition to volunteering, I have held part time and seasonal positions in the workforce.
 
As a non-traditional student, I have learned to prioritize in order to complete multiple tasks in different areas of my life.  Being a student later in life has not taken away from my family, but rather has given me the confidence to be an equal partner in my marriage and a better role model for my children and
 
In my educational career, I have chosen to round myself, rather than fitting into a traditional box. I have classes in a variety of subjects and devoted myself to student leadership and service.  Business classes have developed my supervisory skills; communication practicum classes in radio production and newspaper gave me new ways to express a message.  Honors classes have challenged me, requiring me to use critical thinking skills.
